James, Sirius, and Peter had already changed, Peter having shoved himself into a corner with trembling nose, James standing regally at a safe distance. Sirius was closest, wide dog eyes fastened on Remus, ears tilted just slightly back. His tail, usually wagging and full of energy, was still on the wood floor of the Shrieking Shack. They'd already been there for over an hour; James insisted that they leave plenty of time to spare, just in case. He was never more mature than on the night of a full moon, surpassing even the serious attitude he took with the Quidditch team. They always came far before the moon rose, settling in, Sirius trying to
